Feel and look beautiful!

The most important thing is to feel comfortable during the photoshoot. Choose clothes which do not limit your moves, which will highlight the advantages of your beauty and figure, and will hide any possible imperfections. In this way the styling will not dominate the pictures and you will feel beautiful, unique and comfortable!

If there are parts of your body you may feel insecure about - in a well-chosen outfit, you shouldn't think about them.

If you think you have chubby arms, for example, wear a longer-sleeved blouse or jumper - avoid shoulder-length frills, very short sleeves and tops with narrow straps. If you think your legs could be slimmer, make sure your trousers or skirt are cut well - skirts or 3/4-length trousers are not the right choice in most cases.

Oversize clothes, as well as those very tight to the body, may not work in photos - the first ones usually disturb the proportions of the figure, while too tight clothes expose any imperfections - choose well-fitting clothes!

Apart from the cut, what will define the photos is the style of chosen clothes and well chosen colours.

Colors

Neutral- white, beige and bronzes i.e.

There are colours that always work well – white and neutral colours - they are perfect for bright photos in the studio, but also outdoors, not only spring!

They brighten up and give freshness to your faces. When a colourful background adds character, bright clothing will set you apart and attention will be focused on you.

That's what it's all about! You are the hero of the session!

That's it! You are the heroes of the session!

To add a touch of colour to your outfit, you can add accessories, such as a hat, scarf or shawl, or jewellery in a colourful accent. It's worth taking into account the season of the year.

Bright colours will go well with jeans.

 Textures and patterns of clothes

 Spring-summer outdoor

Spring-summer outdoors likes lace and polka dots, airiness. Natural materials such as cotton, linen and lyocell are perfect for this time (and look much better than artificial materials)

Autumn and winter

Autumn and winter it’s time for thicker jumpers and jackets. Pay attention to the texture of the sweater – it is what gives it a unique character!

Mixing different textures in one look is the perfect idea!

Pastel Spring

There are colors that always work well - white, neutral colors -

they will be great for bright photos in the studio, but also outdoors,

not only spring!

The spring palette is mainly powder pink, mint, lemon and blue. I recommend it as an addition to white, gray or beige - instead of solo.

The following looks are perfect for the outdoors: airy, flowing dresses that look amazing in the wind, scarves and shawl that add an airy touch, overcoats, jumpers, a denim jacket.

Gentlemen will look good in jeans or chino trousers, Bermudas, together with a smart-casual T-shirt.

Casual shoes are ideal for casual outfits - trendy sandals, moccasins, white sneakers, espadrilles and, for cooler temperatures, chukka boots or Chelsea boots. For colder outdoors, a parka or leather jacket (not necessarily black) will be perfect as an overcoat.

The colors of the clothes inspired by the season

Autumn - Colours of the earth

Autumn will go perfectly with the colors of the earth:

beige, browns, bottle green, shades of purple and burgundy (maroon)

Save the pastels for spring, when the flowers are in bloom or for summer.

Including navy blue to stylizations

Although navy blue is not necessarily associated with autumn colours, it will go beautifully with mustard, burgundy, grey and a touch of gold. It is also perfect in the outdoor too!

The best solution is to match colours, textures and patterns to the season.

When choosing colours, keep one intensity and one level of colour tone.  Pastel pink and maroon are shades of red but with different undertones!

Styling and choosing a place for sessions

Greenery, meadows, forest, sea or city?

Urban location is a great option for those of you who like a more elegant or sporty style.

If you have an idea for a specific place – match it with the style of clothes and colours.

If you have a specific location in mind for your session – match the place to it.

If you have your own unique style - that's ok too! If you inform us about it before the session - we will find a place that will highlight it and not clashes with it. This is important.

You can play with colours and textures within one colour palette.

If you are not sure what to choose, please send a few outfits- I will be happy to advise you!

Studio dressing room

We have a range of maternity clothes available. For classic portraits, without a partner, which you can find in our portfolio, you can choose a bodysuit, a golf, an elegant tulle dress with sequins, also a very airy long lily dress with a train is an elegant proposition.

Many of you prefer casual outfits instead of tulle and lace - I love them too! My wardrobe will come with the help of a dungarees with a blouse, T-shirt or a sports top (perfect for sessions with a partner), similarly, polka dot dress, navy blue dresses in various cuts and in juicy bottle green colour, which are more elegant in a smart casual tone than the typical tulle dress.

How to prepare for maternity session in studio?

Maternity shoots in studio and outdoor

Use the potential of your own wardrobe!

You can go ahead and use clothes from your wardrobe - blouses, pants, sweaters or overcoats, a ramones jacket. If you can see easily traces of use, they will not work - studio light expose even more detail than outdoor light - you can use my clothing or invest in new ones. Trust me - fabric pilling can kill the charm of the most beautiful frames. You will often see black in our classic studio sessions in clothes fitted to the body, such as a body or turtleneck - in such a session it is important for us to choose the lighting. In such sessions, we especially suggest how to pose to make the body look good.

If it's not a classic pregnancy session - avoid black or use it only as an addition -

so that it does not create a black spot instead of emphasizing your figure. Contrary to popular opinion, black does not make you slimmer. If it is not your "must have" - it is worth to choose different colors.

Unity of style

Session for two or with a family

For a session with a partner or a partner and child, remember to keep the colours and style of your clothes matching.

Decide on one colour palette.

How to dress up children for photoshoot?

Color toning and harmony

Create a coherent look!

The harmony of colour and style with the clothes of parents and siblings is the key to good colour looking frames.

The rules for choosing colours are the same as for parents – use neutrality rule or choose colours in relation to the season.

Remember to keep clothes free of inscriptions and cartoon characters and prints.

Instead, why not add a little extra detail to your child's outfit, for example with a little pin in a girl's dishevelled hair, contrasting braces, belt or bow tie for a boy, or a cool hat would be a great idea too!

Don't forget to bring your child’s favourite teddy bear!

What should you give up when composing clothes for sessions?

How not to spoil the session with unnecessary clothing elements.

Give up inscriptions, prints, logos. As well as very strong, neon colours - they will effectively draw attention away, especially outdoors or during a session at your home. Another disadvantage of strong colours is the tint they produce on the skin of your face - definitely avoid!

Very small patterns, fine stripes do not look good in the photos (e.g. for the moire effect). One-coloured, colour-matched fabrics are definitely a safe choice.

If you're not sure whether a particular piece of clothing will look good - ask, I'll be happy to advise.

Clothes for the session do not have to be new, but it is important that no signs of use are visible. You often go shopping before the session - then it is worth investing in clothes that will be timeless, not just a seasonal fashion, and will serve you longer and not only for the one shoot.

I am sure that in a few years you will still enjoy looking at these photos!

Those of you who have "unusual" stylizations among your mementos, know what I am talking about ;)

Before the session make sure your clothes are clean and ironed

- We have irons in the studio if you need them - if you let us know before the session, you can use it. Don't forget about this, please

Don't leave the choice of clothes for the last minute!

What else you should bear in mind?

Underwear colour

An important note for women - do not forget to match the colour and cut of underwear (and tights) to your clothes ;)

A black bra under a white blouse is what unnecessarily disturbs the good perception of the photo. If you have generous breasts, skip the push-up bra. Especially with bodysuits this is often a problem so I want to make you aware of this right now.

If you're wearing a skirt, think about tights to harmonise the skin tone of your legs.

Make sure you have all the clothes, shoes and accessories before you go to the shoot, so that both you and I can avoid any unnecessary stress.

What else is worth to take care of?

A few important aspects beyond the clothing

Nails, makeup, hairstyle, face and body care before the session are just as important as clothes! See how makeup and hairstyle add charm!
